In this topic I learned what a computer is: its parts and types, the Windows operating system and its parts, and some useful Windows 8 tools Computers are electronic machines that evolved over time and their modifications. Nowadays they are very useful, since there are some daily activities that need the use of a computer. There are different types of computer:

Desktop: You need to stay connected to electrical power, and have a fixed location.

 Laptop: It is a portable and compact computer, it has the capacity to perform most tasks that a desktop computer does.

 Mini laptop: A version of the laptop even smaller, to horra more space.

 Tablet: A smart computer integrated in a touch screen.

We learned about the Windows operating system, which throughout its history has gone through several updates and versions to reach the latest version. According to launch order, the Windows versions are:

We work mainly with Windows 8, which consists of several parts, such as the desktop.

And on the desktop we can also find gadgets: small and fast applications, such as clock or calendar gadgets.

Another part of which I learned a lot was also the Windows window, composed of the following elements: The title bar: That shows the name of the program and contains the window handles:

Minimize: To shrink the window. Restore: To maximize and restore the window. Close: That closes the open window.

The scroll bar: As the name implies, it allows us to move across the width and along the window.

 The status bar: It provides information about the window that we have open. 

The edges of the window: 

That they can modify the size of it when dragging them with the mouse. 

The address bar: It is located under the title bar and provides information about open folders. 

The back-forward buttons:

 They help us to move to the next folder or the previous one. 

The search bar: It facilitates the search of a file allowing you to enter your name.

Other elements that we learned to use with Windows: Paint was for me that application that I used to waste time while I was bored, but in these classes I learned that Paint can be given productive use. For example in Paint we can edit images in a simple way. In one of the exercises, we created a drawing in Paint. We use tools like the eraser, the types of brushes, colors and shapes like the rectangle and the circle.

Cuttings and Winsnap: They are simple tools that allow us to capture the entire screen, or small sections of it and edit them in the program, as for example the previous screenshot could be done in an exercise thanks to cuts.
